Object to McDonalds
McDonalds has applied for planning permission. We now need as many people to object as possible by 25 September.
We’ve taken advice from both Cllr Kamel Hawwash and David Barker (former Planning committee chair).

Dear Planning Team,
I would like to object to this application for a drive-through. I am one of over 300 residents who has signed a survey objecting to any drive through at this location and ask that it be blocked on the following Planning grounds:
Traffic and Congestion: Slowing public transport and emergency vehicles at an already narrow, restricted junction.
Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety: Increased vehicle conflict points cutting across pavements, endangering active travel routes near local schools.
Environmental Pollution: Worsening local air quality due to constant idling vehicles, directly conflicting with Birmingham City Council clean air policies in an area with poor air quality.
Residential Noise and Disturbance: General acoustic disruption affecting community safety and tranquillity in an immediate residential zone.
Inappropriate Land Use: Poor low-density utilisation of highly valuable, well-connected land, violating local sustainable transport frameworks.
High Street Character: Coarse corporate design that fails to respect or keep in character with Stirchley’s distinct independent high street identity.
Over-Concentration of Takeaways: Undermining public health initiatives, local planning limits on hot food takeaways, and the diversity of the high street economy.
Delivery Driver Nuisance: Dedicated courier zones inviting high-frequency moped traffic, engine idling, and congregation, worsening local congestion and noise.
Late-Night Amenity Impact: Unacceptable light pollution, intercom noise, and anti-social behaviour risks during sensitive late-night or 24-hour operation windows.
Community Consensus: Disregarding clear, overwhelming previous rejection by over 1,800 members of the local community.Many thanks
